Barcelona Zoo is located almost in the center of town in a picturesque location near the famous Arc de Triomphe. The zoo was opened in 1982 and has since been a constant place of visits and children, and adults.

In the zoo Barcelona collected a very large number of different animals from different climatic regions, which, however, thrive, living in a mild Mediterranean climate. It is home to the representatives of Africa, Asia, Australia, South America and many islands and even Antarctica. Animals are kept in cages, surrounded by a low fence and surrounded by moats, or enclosed structures made of organic glass. For all the animals the zoo has created conditions most suited to their natural habitat conditions.

Walking from the zoo, you will meet African and Indian elephants, hippos and rhinos, kangaroos and emus, giraffes and okapi, bears and lions, llamas and camels, nutria and lemurs, as well as many other amazing animals .  The zoo is a large collection of birds - there is a red-and-green macaws, lovebirds, toucans, pink and orange flamingos, peacocks, herons, black swans .  Many live here and primates of various kinds .  Pride and heritage of the zoo, its peculiar character - unique in its kind Snow White Gorilla, unfortunately, has died at a very advanced for these animals aged 40 .  Right in the center of the zoo in a cage made of transparent plastic red panda lives .  Here you will also see a family of penguins and fur seals meet .  In addition, the zoo is a large terrarium in which they live different species of crocodiles, iguanas, turtles, snakes and lizards .  There is also a swimming pool where you can not only see how dolphins live, but also to see the wonderful performances of these amazing animals .
