Temple Goa lavas is located at the entrance to the cave Goa lavas. Cave Goa lavas, which means "bat cave" is perhaps one of the most interesting places in Bali. Goa lavas - a natural cave, inside of which live hundreds of thousands of bats. In the evening, when it gets dark, the monks bring to the cave entrance lavish feast for bats, which are revered and considered sacred Balinese beings.

In Indonesia, the word "temple" sounds like "pura", and it is worth noting the fact that pura mainly focused on Bali where Hinduism - the dominant religion on the island. The island of Bali is a large number of churches - about more than 10 000 and, therefore, the island of Bali is also called "the island of a thousand pura".

Mountain Temple Goa lavas included in the nine most important temples that protect Bali from evil spirits. Presumably, the temple was built in the XI century and is considered the founder of the temple Mn, Kutaran - priest, who brought Buddhism to the island. The Indonesian government closely monitors the state of the churches, so Goa lavas, like other churches, it looks majestic and well maintained. The sanctuary of the temple is made of black stone volcanic rock decoration - gold. Also inside you can see the many sculptures that depict the spirits. Bats at the Balinese are considered mini-dragons, so the architecture of the temple is used a lot of dragon symbolism. At the main entrance are growing two large banyan-tree.
