Photo: Ancient Argos
Argos is the oldest "continuously inhabited" city in Europe. Argos castle is located on a high hill. Fortress repeatedly changed their masters - the ancient Greeks, Byzantines, Crusaders, Venetians, Turks in turn reigned here. It offers a magnificent view of the city and the bay.
From ancient Argos there are very few: the foundation of the agora of classical times, the Roman baths and a huge theater of the IV century BC, rebuilt by the Romans for gladiatorial combat.
