Antwerp castle wall was built in the 13th century on the River Scheldt. Prior to 1827 was used as a prison. In the 19th century most of the buildings of the castle, including the old church, were demolished. Now you can see only a small part of a huge castle that is here. Now here is the National Maritime Museum, and the castle in 1963, established the figure of the fantastic hero Long Vapper - giant once lived in Antwerp.
