People's Square in Zadar was built in the Middle Ages and was the center of urban life: it is located on the city administration. Throughout the ages the area changed its name and appearance.
Above the square rises the building of the town hall, which during the Italian government collapsed, but was rebuilt in 1934. Currently, it is used as a platform for the presentation of various art projects of the international level. In another building, located in the town square, located ethnological department of the National Museum, and currently settled showroom.
In different parts of the area are preserved buildings from various periods of construction, such as the ancient church of St. Lawrence with an atrium. In the eastern part of the square is the Palace of the XV century Zhirardini.
