In September 2012 at Resurrection waterfront Mari capital opened a sculpture symbolizing knowledge and wisdom. Famous for the many attractions of Yoshkar-Ola sculptor Andrei Kovalchuk portrayed the Florentine Renaissance statesman sitting on a throne with a book in hand and a muse in the head. On the parchment in his hands muses are carved three principles by which the rules of Lorenzo de 'Medici Florence: "Patriae decus, familiae amplitudo, incrementum atrium" ("The benefit of the Fatherland, the grandeur of the family, an increase of Art").
At the opening of the monument draws a parallel between the Florentine Renaissance and the latest changes in the Mari Republic. Over the past decade revived the ruined temples and build new ones, created by sports and cultural facilities, to build bridges and monuments were erected. What is not the era of transformation with the revival of the Mari capital and the spiritual resurrection of the national culture ?!
Monument brilliant policy and patron of science and art adorns the small alley Italian Park on the waterfront of the river Little Kokshaga. Next to the monument "Signor Florence, Lorenzo di Piero de 'Medici" is the Annunciation and the square tower of the Blessed Virgin Mary. From the monument has a beautiful view of the Bryggen, located on the opposite bank Kokshaga.
