The monument "Mother Armenia" located in the center of Yerevan Victory Park - a symbol of victory and courage of the Armenian people.

Once one of the central streets of the city was called - Stalin Avenue. Prospect was built on the site formerly occupied here Armenian Street, which were single-storey and two-storey houses with beautiful gardens. Over time, the gardens were cut down, and the place of small houses - built five-storey building. From the hill to the avenue looked Stalin - a bronze statue installed on a high pedestal. In the early 60-ies., When Stalin's personality cult was debunked, a bronze statue was removed, and a black pedestal was empty for several years. Landscape composition gradually destroyed, and only in 1967 from scratch was the sculpture "Mother Armenia". The author of the project was made by architect A. Harutyunyan.
