National Gallery of Armenia - is the main museum of fine arts of the country. The gallery is located in Yerevan Republic Square and is part of the museum complex. Art Gallery is located on the upper floors of the building, the lower two floors of the building reserved for the National History Museum of Armenia.

The reason for the gallery was the discovery in 1921 at the State Museum of Art Department. During 1930 - 1950 years. Fund works from the gallery replenished GMP, GE and other museums. The meeting also replenished through purchases of the museum itself. In 1935 the art department got the status of a museum. In 1947 he was awarded the official title of the State Gallery of Armenia. A year later, the building had a large-scale reconstruction. In 1991, Armenia declared independence. In the same year the State Art Gallery was renamed the National Gallery of Armenia, after which there began the restoration work. Gallery opened its doors in May 2004, showing visitors the updated exposure.
