Erebuni Museum in Yerevan - this is one of the most interesting museums in the city. Located on a hillside Arin-Berd, the museum was opened in 1968 in honor of the 2750th anniversary of Yerevan.

The name of the museum was named after the city-fortress, the remains of which were assigned to the museum. The central facade of the museum building is decorated with a huge bas-relief depicting the founder of Erebuni - King Argishti I. Prior to the first half of the twentieth century. Erebuni whereabouts nobody knew. And only in 1950, during the exploration on Arin-Berd, archaeologists have discovered a huge number of ancient urban structures covered with a thick layer of soil. In the heart of this ancient city rose a strong fortification. After a while the inscription was found King Argishti I on the construction of the city-fortress of Erebuni.

The museum Erebuni are presented with many artifacts found during the excavations of the citadel of Erebuni in 1950-1959, as well as the nearby city of Urartu Teishebaini that took place in 1939-1958 gg. on the hill Karmir-Blur. Among the exhibits of special interest to tourists are: samples of cuneiform writing, printing, edged weapons, armor, bronze bracelets, carnelian, agate and glass items, beads and coins of Caesar Augustus and two coins of Miletus, a pitcher and three silver rhyton. The most valuable exhibits of the museum - twenty and three cuneiform tablets of the Urartu period.

The museum's collection also presented gifts to the city of Yerevan got in his 2750 anniversary.
