The house-museum of the history of political exile in Yakutsk - is one of the famous cultural attractions. The house was built in 1880 by a wealthy local resident FP Romanov and was placed on the street Portovskoy (later street Yaroslavl). In this house in 1902 he lived the most famous photographer in the capital - politssylny B. shelters. In 1904, in the area there was an armed protest politssylnyh, which went down in history as "Romanovsky protest."
In February 1951, the house was opened historical and revolutionary museum "The Bolsheviks in the Yakut link."
