Monument to the Fallen and tortured in the East - a monument located on Muronovskoy street in Warsaw.

The monument was created by Polish sculptor Maximilian Biskupská - a graduate of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. Monument to the Fallen and tortured in the East, was opened on 17 September 1995, at the 56th anniversary of the Soviet aggression against Poland. The monument was created in memory of Poles killed in labor camps in Siberia, as well as the victims of Katyn, who died in 1940 during the mass executions. According to archival data, March 5, 1940 were shot 21,857 Polish citizens.

Monument to a height of almost seven meters depicts the railway wagon without walls, which found a large number of crosses. Each sleeper to make a mark with the names of towns where they were located labor camps or were committed mass murder of Polish citizens.

Caring for the monument took over the Federation of Katyn Families. In 1999, the monument makes a prayer of Blessed. John Paul II during his visit to Warsaw. In 2006, he visited the Pope Benedict XVI during his pilgrimage to Poland.
