Pavlov's House, located in the heart of the city of Volgograd - one of the most important monuments dedicated to the difficult victory in the Battle of Stalingrad. This, at first view quite inconspicuous building became a symbol of heroism, tenacity and military feats.

Before the war, the building was a four-story house, in which the workers lived oblpotrebsoyuza. The house was surrounded by luxury homes and signalers NKVD, so it is considered one of the most prestigious in Stalingrad. In September 1942, the house was fixed reconnaissance, consisting of four soldiers. It was headed by Sergeant Yakov Pavlov. After a few days in the house reinforcements arrived under the command of Lieutenant Ivan Afanasyev and as a senior in rank, he was assigned to lead the defense of the house. German troops several times during the day attacked the house of Pavlova, but each time they had to retreat. The defense of the residential building was carried out over the past two months, reflecting sustained attacks of the enemy.

After the war, the area in which the house was Pavlova, named the area of ​​Defense. Near the house was built a semicircular colonnade. Its author was the architect E. Fialko. In 1965, by sculptor Alexander Golovanov and P. Malkov on the end wall of the building was erected a memorial wall monument dedicated to the heroism of the defenders of Stalingrad combat.

Pavlov's House - this is the first building, which was restored after the end of the Battle of Stalingrad. Today, he is an ordinary house with a huge memorial wall.
