Museum of Palazzo Mocenigo is housed in the palace of the same name next to the Church of San Stae in the Santa Croce quarter in Venice. It houses a rich collection of historical costumes and fabrics, and the museum itself is a part of the Municipal Museum Foundation of Venice.

Palazzo Mocenigo is a huge building in the Gothic style .  It was significantly rebuilt in the early 17th century, when it became the seat of one of the branches of the family Mocenigo .  Of course the family was one of the most important in Venice - seven of its members were dozhami .  In 1945 Palazzo bequest Alvise Nicolò Mocenigo became the property of the City Hall .  Alvise was the last representative of the family and wanted the palace was used as an art gallery .  In 1985, it houses the Museum and Research Center of fabrics and costumes .  Today, his collection can be seen ancient artifacts brought from the Correr Museum and Gugggenhayma, Palazzo Grassi and meetings Chini .  In addition, on the first floor of the Palazzo Mocenigo it has a well-equipped library on the history of costume, textiles and fashion as a whole .  The emphasis placed on it in the fashion of the 18th century .  The palace is decorated with works of art of the 18th century, including paintings by Giambattista Canal and Jacopo Guarana .  A collection of fabrics and costumes occupies the first mezzanine and upper floor .  In the second mezzanine is didactic area .
