Regional Museum of Natural History, located in the famous medieval castle in the town of Saint-Pierre in the Italian region of Val d'Aosta, combines history, architecture and science. His exhibition housed in nine exhibition halls and acquaint visitors with nature of this unique region - is the perfect start of a journey for those who want to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the mountain valleys and secluded villages in Val d'Aosta. Over the years the museum has acquired fame at the national and international levels, which confirms the constant influx of tourists from other parts of Italy and from abroad, as well as the constant scientific cooperation with leading museums and universities around the world.
Museum exhibits collected in the botanical, zoological and mineral-petrographic collections that have been transferred to it by the various scientific campaigns, and were taken on loan from institutions and individuals. Since 1999, the museum produces its own edition - "Monographs", dedicated to the research work on the study of the region. It was initiated as part of the museum expeditions were studied ungulates, bats, lepidoptera and aviafauna Val d'Aosta, held floristic studies of vascular plants and lichens, as well as organized limnological and hydrogeological studies.
