For a long time the Church of St. Adalbert, founded in the XI century, was the main church of Usti nad Labem. It is located in the historic part of town, so we can say that the city was formed around the church. In 1538 the town was almost completely destroyed by fire. Victims and the church, which have forgotten for a long period. People had to rebuild the burned houses and barns, all funds went to it, but the church could take care in the least. Only in 1617 it came to hand. And thanks to the restoration of the church should not local residents, and the Dominican religious order, who bought land in the city center for the construction of their own monastery. Abbey adjoined to the church, which is considered a part of it. In the XVIII century the church was reconstructed, modifying the façade. Now it has been designed in the Baroque style. Broggi led the reconstruction of Octavius.

During the communist regime all the items that were in the church of St. Adalbert, were sold. Currently, the church building is used for concerts, exhibitions and other special events, organized by the city authorities. In 1972, the church established a new body, which is the size, power and beauty of sound is the second in the Czech Republic. On Sundays, there are Orthodox services.

In the tower of the Church of St. Adalbert are two bells that were brought here from other churches. It is a bell in 1554, which had previously been in the Church of St. Nicholas in Trzhebushine and the article, dated 1648 year, which adorns the church of St. Wenceslas in Blizhevedli.
