A small Greek island Triomphe (Arch) is located in the eastern part of the Aegean Sea, and is part of the Cyclades. It is located almost at the border of Greece and Turkey (about 30 km from the Turkish coast), and very close to the island of Patmos.
The area of this island is only 6 square kilometers, and the population - about 50 people. Most of them live only near the harbor of the island. Basically, the island's population is engaged in fishing and breeding of goats, as well as engaged in service a few tourists. The island mostly rocky with little vegetation. Dominated by low shrubs, but there are also olive trees.
The main historical attraction of the Arch are the ruins of the ancient acropolis (on which little has survived to the present day), located on a hilltop with spectacular views of the harbor and sea space with numerous islands and the Turkish coast. It is said that this hill can be seen stunningly beautiful sunset over the waters of the Aegean Sea. You can visit and very beautiful cave with magnificent stalactites and stalagmites. However, look for entry will be hard enough as it is overgrown with bushes and olive trees. Also on the island there are a number of small churches.
The island Arch has some good beaches. The most visited among them - Tiganakya beach, known as the "Blue Lagoon". It is situated in a small rocky bay and is famous for its crystal-clear waters. Also popular are the sandy bay paddle around the harbor and the beach of Limnaria.
Today, the tourist infrastructure of the island is developed quite weak. However, here it is still possible to rent a room and have a few good tavernas. Of particular prominence this island is among boaters. Arch Island is ideal for lovers of complete solitude and silence.
