The youngest Teplice temple was consecrated in honor of the Sacred Heart of the Lord, but also has an unofficial name, which provided him the color of the walls, lined with red tiles. The people in the northern part of the church Teplice Trnovane called Red.
At the end of the XIX century, the city grew rapidly, so new members had to build its own Catholic church. The active group of citizens started collecting funds for the new church in 1895, but was able to accumulate the required amount only to 1907. For the construction of the church was purchased by the square of land.
The temple was built in a record short period of time - less than two years. By 1909, the Church of the Sacred Heart of the Lord with a square bell tower height of 47 meters took the first believers.
The temple was designed by local architect Gustav Zhirha. The church built in the Gothic Revival style. The temple is a three-nave basilica with a small chapel and an arched vault. The main entrance to the church is located in the tower with a high gabled roof.
After passing the church in its operation for another few years we furnished and decorated. After 1910 in the Church of the Sacred Heart of the Lord appeared organ and bells installed in the tower.
In the interior were used ancient artifacts, such as the right side of the altar. This item has been previously stored in the chapel of St. Roch was created long before the construction of the temple. Wall painting was done in the 30s of XX century local artist Alfred Bohm.
The temple has always belonged to the Roman Catholic Church. Now it is also held worship, so this temple is open to all believers.
