On the Prospect of a high concentration of cultural and architectural attractions of the city, here it takes the cultural life of Tbilisi.
Construction of Tbilisi Rustaveli Avenue began in the XIX century. under the leadership of Prince Vorontsov. The main symbol of the prospectus are plane trees - big trees with powerful trunks and broad crown. Rising on both sides of the city avenue trees on sunny days to form on the pavement amazing lace of shadows. It is very like to gather and communicate not only local residents, but also visitors to the city.
The origin of the prospectus takes from Freedom Square, which is in its history many times changed its name. In the square with a beautiful fountain can see a bust of AS Pushkin. On the left from the Liberty Square, even "trade" side is full of restaurants, cafes, shops and souvenir shops, so it is very crowded. In addition, there are buildings that are worthy of special attention, for example, a building with a colonnade made in the Italian style, which houses the Union of Cinematographers and the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences of Georgia, and former House officers and the Ministry of Justice. Nearby is the Russian Drama Theater named. A. Griboyedov Theater of Opera and Ballet Paliashvili.
On the opposite, the odd side of the avenue is located the National Museum of Georgia. Coming from the National Museum you can see the Rustaveli theater, the church of St. George and Art Salon, which is a place of exhibitions and opening days. A little further on is a wonderful building of the former Artistic society today Rustaveli Theatre.
