Famous Vorontsov caves stretch for 11 km. This is one of the largest systems in the Caucasus, with a height difference of 240 meters. It consists of three parts - Hog, Vorontsov and labyrinth interconnected by narrow passages, which are filled with water. Many of the caves have been known to primitive people who founded here the parking lot. Traces of our ancestors found in Ahshtyrskaya cave, a place of pilgrimage for lovers of antiquities.

In the caves, a lot of water, including mineral springs, there are underground rivers and lakes. Halls "stalactite", "Pantheon", "fireplace", "Silence", "oval", "Bear", "Prometheus" impresses with its size and natural decor. In the halls of the "hearth" and "stalactite", up to 100 meters, has a vertical portion with waterfalls and stilling wells, intricate piling boulders, calcareous sinters. The lower tier is the grotto "Cave Bear" - here now live bats, and once lived cave bears. Their remains were found by archaeologists. The Vorontsov cave were among the finds and the archaeological remains of the late Paleolithic: stone and bone tools, bones eaten by animals (bison, wild horses, wild boars, deer, bears), the remains of pottery.

Total in Sochi are more than 400 vertical, horizontal, cascading, labyrinth of caves. They have great historical and archaeological value and is easily accessible excursionists.
