Like many cities in Spain, in Seville there are many beautiful old churches. One of these churches is the ancient Catholic Church of San Esteban, and representing the artistic, historical and cultural value. The church was built in the early 15th century on the ruins of an ancient mosque located here earlier. During the Lisbon earthquake in 1755, the church of San Esteban was severely damaged, after which it was restored with significant changes. In particular, the building of the church was completed tower with a bell tower. Crowned with a graceful spire bell tower gives the whole building majesty and adds strict building facade scenic. Originally, the tower was created under the direction of Juan Gomez, later it was restored under the project by Pedro de Silva.
The temple is designed in the Gothic style with elements inherent in the Mudejar style. Facade of the church is decorated with two magnificent lancet portal made of stone. The church has three naves, the central of which is wider and taller side.
Installed inside the church the main altar was created by artist Luis de Figueroa in 1629. One of the fragments of the altar was made of Moorish tiles from the late 14th century. The altar is decorated with seven magnificent canvases painted by Francisco de Zurbaran brilliant, which depict biblical scenes.
In the left part of the building was built the Tabernacle Chapel, which is located inside the magnificent Baroque altar dedicated to the Immaculate Conception, created by Augustine Perea.
