Construction of the 35th coastal battery in Sevastopol started in 1912 by imperial decree, but because of World War I interrupted the process. After the Bolsheviks came to power battery decided to finish, this was used earlier drawings that made the royal engineers. The construction of the battery takes the best specialists whose skill is striking to this day.

35 coastal battery - a four-storey building, three floors of which are underground. According to historical records, powerful fortifications, has an impressive fighting force, has survived at least three two-ton bombs hit three huge sea shells and protected against the ingress of dangerous toxic substances - solid, liquid, gaseous and pulverized. The battery can be compared to a small town in which there is a boiler room, water supply, sewerage, electricity, telephone and radio, as well as underground water storage tanks, fuel oil, a workshop, an automatic fire extinguishing system, saloon and a medical unit. Battery played a very important role in the defense of Sevastopol. She, along with the 30th tower battery is a kind of "skeleton" of the fortress artillery defense. Having shot all the ammo and releasing about 50 practical shell, on the orders of Commandant of the coastal defense of the Black Sea Fleet main base of Major General PA Morgunov, 35th coastal battery on the night of 1 to 2 July 1942 was blown up.

During the occupation of the city in the surviving casemates were equipped with battery command post commander of the Seventeenth German Army General Hospital and Karl Allmendinger. In May 1944, the battery was released.

After the war, the 35th coastal battery was not restored. But, despite this, its casemates were used as a command post, ammunition cellars and facilities personnel chetyrehorudiynoy 130mm battery №723, which was located near an array of 35-th battery.
