The building, constructed in 1911 at the expense of Novouzensk second guild merchant Stepan Pavlovich Petrov. The two-storey building housed his office, warehouse store agricultural machines and implements and accommodations.

FROM . P . Petrov in 1866, native of the city Volsk Saratov region, came from middle-class, a large family, was educated at home and began his career as a teenager when moving to Saratov in the grocery store his father .  The courteous, prompt and CEO Stepan quickly gained a good reputation and has mastered the trade and commercial business .  Soon a young specialist was invited to store agricultural machines P . TO . Eartha (trading house Ertov Street . Sovetskaya 10), to the post of clerk .  With a decent salary . P . Petrov first helped his parents financially, and then digging money, started his own business selling agricultural machines Pokrovskaya Sloboda (now Mr. . Engels) .  In 1900 he became a merchant of the second guild, and already in 1917 a well-known industrialist and merchant, . P . Petrov becomes the first guild merchant in 1918 because of the civil war, the whole family is in a hurry to leave Russia .  In 1926, C . P . Petrov dies, leaving behind three daughters . 

In Soviet times the building Petrov was "socialized" and from 1917 to 1930 the building housed: they club. Leon Trotsky, SAPP (Saratov Association of Proletarian Writers) and Exchange unemployed. In 1984, when the building was supposed to be converted into the restaurant "Moldova", in the repair of the wall found a hoard of 374 gold coins. In the 1990s, the building occupied JSC "Saratov Youth House", then Chamber of Commerce (the latter initiated the installation of a sculpture at the corner of the facade god of commerce Mercury, the work A.Scherbakova). Nowadays the house of merchant and industrialist S.P.Petrova take trade organizations. The building is an architectural monument and a historical landmark in the city of Saratov.
