Opera of Ruse is located on the square of the Holy Trinity. His extensive repertoire is able to meet even the most exacting demands of connoisseurs and lovers of opera: from the stage sounded not only become a long time classical and paradigmatic opera by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Puccini and Verdi, but also more modern works by composers Stravinsky, Shostakovich and many others. Over the years, a flurry of activity on the stage of this theater was delivered more than two hundred different musical and theatrical productions, many of which were premiere for Bulgaria. On the stage of the opera house in Ruse has performed with many artists of world renown, such as Raina Kabaivanska, Anna Tomova-Sintova, Nicolai Ghiaurov, TodorMazarov Elena Nicolai and others.

The theater was founded in 1949 on the basis of the Opera Society of Rousse and 1956 thanks to the talent and professionalism of the creative team became widely known and regularly toured many countries of the world (Italy, Greece, France, Luxembourg, Ukraine, the Netherlands, Romania, Belgium, Spain and et al.).

In 1999, the Philharmonic Orchestra and the Opera of the city were united under the leadership of well-known far beyond the borders of Bulgaria conductor found Todorova.
