Rovaniemi Art Museum was opened in 1876. It is located in a former post office, restored by architect Juhani Pallasmaa and converted specifically for the museum. Most of the exhibition presents the works of contemporary Finnish art from the collection of Jenny and Antti Wihuri, which already includes more than 2,000 works.
Special exhibitions focused on the work of artists of northern people of Lapland. The museum hosts the event, based on the interaction of science and culture, as well as the local multicultural community and the University of Lapland.
The museum takes visitors with disabilities. For them held a specialized tour.
The museum has a car parking and a shop.
