The existence of the museum began in 1986, when the restorers from the Baltic states, from Rezekne gave Pushkin Reserve frame watermill. Museum "Water Mill" was opened in 2007 after the reconstruction, becoming a really existing mill.
Bugrovo - old village in the past has the name of the mounds. Since the 17th century, the village belonged to the Church of the Assumption monastery. The monks of the monastery built a water mill. The first mill on the river Lugovka mentioned in 1764. The earliest mention of the mill found in written sources, does not say anything about the date of its construction. But the history of the monasteries in Russia proves that the mill is the most important objects in the economic structure and monasteries were built at the same time to places of worship.
Today the mill is very similar, "Pushkin" - it has been recreated by many preserved documents. In those years, when Pushkin lived in the Mikhailovsky mill in Bugrovo has a very impressive view. Its dimensions are impressive. But not only the size of the original "face" isolated mill against other village buildings. From them it was very "talkative". The roar of rushing water on a wooden tray, rotating the creaking waterwheels, millstones and trees merged into one "Mill" aria, which drowned out all other sounds.
Museum "Mill Village Bugrovo" dedicated "village" Pushkin, the poet's interest to the peasant way of life, customs, rituals and culture. Pushkin was a frequent visitor here, noting the special atmosphere of mill life. Probably, it is the place chosen as a place of the poet act of his drama "Mermaid" may place duel in the novel "Onegin".
Some time ago, it is quite dilapidated - of the speech did not go, because all the main parts, and the gears and actuators were made of wood. House Miller almost fell apart. But the 200th anniversary of the poet in the Pushkin Reserve has undergone major restoration and reconstruction work. In addition to the mill and the miller's house have been restored and farmhouses. At the manor has a barn, sauna, hay barn and a barn with a barn.
Today the village is a functioning water mill, which run on weekends. Millers not only explain the working principle of the ancient mechanisms, but also show the internal structure of the water mill. Here there are ancient scales, weights and steelyards, as well as other long-standing Mills utensils. Miller, too, if, by some miracle, transferred here from time immemorial, ease sleep grain, which in his eyes is transformed into flour milling required. The holidays also produce a theatrical run of the mill. Just grind flour, packed in a gift package will be a good memory of visiting the mill.
In the House of the miller have the opportunity to test their skill, to participate in the old Russian games, learn traditional crafts. Children can learn to weave belt, make dolls, amulets. For the youngest visitors, the museum will tell tales in ancient Pskov dialect.
The museum opened a cafe called "Traktir at the mill," and its distinctive feature is a real Russian oven, and the girls serve visitors to this Russian sundresses.
On the bank of a small river Lugovka noise mill, milled flour. The charm of the place invites you to plunge into the past, go back to the fabulous world of the Russian countryside and feel the atmosphere of the time of Pushkin.
