Prague's Lesser Town is famous for many magnificent palaces, surrounded by lush gardens. One of these landmarks, mandatory inspection, is the palace Vtrby or Vtrbovsky. It is located at the intersection of Trzhishte and Carmelite.
The first owner of the palace was the Earl of Vtrby Sezim. In 1622 he began buying up property, standing on the site of their future home. Only 9 years later he was able to buy the last building. The palace was rebuilt many times. At first, he gave a Baroque appearance, then decorated in a classic style, two wings and built a grand staircase.
