Trinity Danilov Monastery was founded in 1508 by Rev. Daniel - one of the most revered saints of Pereslavl. He became famous because pilgrims sought out the victims - finding dead bodies, dead or frozen on the road, which did not need family, attributed them to the potter's field, located on the spot where today stands the Trinity Danilov Monastery.

It is known that, after some time, childless Vasily III was frequently in Pereslavl, and after his marriage to E. Glinsky had a son, Ivan (the future Tsar Ivan IV the Terrible). On this happy occasion in 1530 with funds granted by Vasily III, it began the construction of the stone Trinity Cathedral, which was made by the builder Grigory Borisov. The structure features a complex internal structure and beautiful exterior design. Inside, on the second floor - a large refectory (the largest of the ancient chambers of Pereslavl).
