In the south of Pardubice is a vast city cemetery, which is still used for its intended purpose. In the north-eastern part of the Jewish graveyard is now called New. In fact, an ancient cemetery where people were buried back in the last century. It was founded in 1883.

Many Czech towns, including in Pardubice, until World War II lived large Jewish communities, who built their own neighborhoods, synagogues and cemeteries smashed. On the territory of Pardubice there was a big old Jewish cemetery, which was closed when a new. Some families wanted to move the graves of their ancestors to the new location. To this day preserved ancient tombs 7, which previously stood on the Old Cemetery. The oldest monument is dated 1739 year. It is perfectly preserved and will be of interest to history buffs.

New Jewish cemetery consists of 400 graves, over which a memorial plate with the names and epitaphs. Some of them are in terrible condition, since a long time are not subjected to reconstruction.

The wall surrounding the cemetery are also buried. On the territory of the Jewish cemetery can be found final resting place of victims of the Nazi 7 camp Auschwitz-Birkenau. Not far from their graves is a memorial dedicated to all victims of the Nazi regime. It was established in 1948. There is also a storage room, where the main exhibit is a sign indicating the number of local Jews who perished during the Second World War.
