Church of San Giuseppe dei Teatino in Palermo is considered one of the most interesting examples of the architectural style of the Sicilian Baroque. Located in the city quarter Albergeriya near Piazza Villena, it bears the name of St. Joseph and the Catholic Order Theatines. A member of the Order was the architect Giacomo Bezio from Genoa, who in the early 17th century, started to build the church. In the center of the majestic and at the same time, a simple facade you can see a statue of Gaetan Tienskogo, founder of the Order. Of particular note is a huge dome with blue and yellow stripes majolica. Above the vestibule with double columns, the architect Giuseppe Mariani, a bell tower was designed by Paolo Amato. The left façade of the church opens onto Piazza Villena, known as the Quattro Canti well and seamlessly blends into its architectural ensemble.
Inside the Church of San Giuseppe dei Teatino consists of a central nave and two aisles, which are separated by marble columns of different heights. Over the decoration of the church worked such masters of the Baroque Corso Paolo and Giuseppe Serpotta.
