Sun Museum in Novosibirsk - is one of the most unusual museums in Russia and the only one in the world. It is situated in Akademgorodok, and takes only two rooms.
The idea to establish the Museum of the Sun has arisen in the 1986 solo exhibition, which took place in DC "Builder" under the slogan "Let's create a museum of the sun." The initiator of the museum became Lipenkov Valery, who is currently the head of it. In the Novosibirsk Museum of the Sun are more than 2 thousand units dedicated to the sun. At the museum you can see all sorts of images of ancient solar symbols that have been copied from the original archaeological finds, traditional folk images of the Sun, solar talismans, amulets of various countries and peoples. In addition, the museum has a vast collection of Indian and Nepalese solar traditions, as well as Native American and Old. All "gods" were carved on the tree founding father of this unique museum artist V. Lipenkovym wood. For a more detailed study of how the Sun depicted various peoples of the world, he made several research trips, enriched the collection of exhibits from India, Nepal, Indonesia and Australia.
The oldest museum exhibits - Fossil mollusk shell - about 300 million years. The shell was found on the coast of the Arctic Ocean director of West Siberian Film Studio Valery Novikov.
In the days of the solstices and equinoxes in the museum organizes celebrations of the sun. Every year the number of museum visitors is growing. On average, for the year it is visited by more than six thousand people.
Since 1999, the Museum of the Sun in conjunction with the municipal youth club "Sunny" holds children's competition "Children draw the sun."
