History Museum of railway equipment is located in the Soviet area, near the railway station in the Sower Berd highway leading from downtown to the Akademgorodok. Construction of the museum began in May 2000. There have been standoffs, the mound and laid the rails. The opening of the museum of history of railway equipment was held in August 2000 for the celebration of the railway.

The uniqueness of the museum lies in the fact that in the West Siberian Railway collected samples of unique hardware, locomotives, passenger and freight cars and track equipment. In the future, it plans to open a museum exhibition dedicated to instruments and means of signaling, power supply, communication and other equipment.

The initiator of the establishment of the base was made a hereditary railwayman Nikolai Arkhipovich Akulinin. His idea was supported by the leadership of the road. N. Akulinin for nine years led the museum named after him later.

The length of the museum exposition in the open air - about three kilometers. In general, the exhibition grounds of the museum features more than 100 different exhibits. In the museum you can see 7 different locomotives of release. The oldest exhibit is a locomotive layout "Agile" of the nineteenth century. Of particular interest also uses steam locomotive 1912 release. The locomotive was built on the project, developed by Russian designer Lopushinsky. In Russia, these locomotives were manufactured until 1923. In addition, the museum can see the other domestic locomotives, steam locomotives made in Hungary and the United States, 15 locomotives, produced in the USSR (1964 -1971 gg.), And 12 locomotives, which were issued at different time.

In addition to the museum of railway equipment in the exposition of automotive engineering. In the collection there are Soviet cars "Moskvich", GAZ, ZAZ, a few tractors, trucks, all-terrain vehicles, and even the American "Dodge."
