House Museum NA Ostrovsky is located in the city of Novorossiysk on the streets of the Soviets. In this house, which belonged to a distant relative, a famous writer Nikolai Ostrovsky lived for two years in the most difficult of his life. Caught completely bedridden, it is hard to educate ourselves. It was in this house the writer found happiness. Paradise Matsyuk - daughter of the owner, has become not only his loyal friend, but also his wife. During World War II this small house was destroyed. After a while, the house was restored to the same foundation, after which he was put under the shelter staff wagon factory.

In 1977, the city executive committee has decided to open a home in NA Ostrovsky Literary-Memorial Museum Department. In order to restore the original appearance of the house museum scientists took several years. A huge help in this difficult matter had RP Ostrovsky, who arrived in Novorossiysk in 1981. It was for her memories were restored courtyard house facade, its interior layout, as well as reconstructed memorial room.

The official opening of the house-museum of NA Ostrovsky was held in 1983. In 1990 was established literary and memorial exposition, consisting of a memorial room and three exhibition halls. The centerpiece of the memorial room of writer takes the table with books, newspapers and magazines. Kerosene table lamp, an inkwell and a pen with a pen in the room creates an atmosphere of authenticity of what is happening.

A special place in the exhibition devoted to the writer's works, which were published not only in the USSR but also abroad at different times. In the museum, visitors can see various documents, letters Ostrovsky family and friends, rare photos, first editions of the writer's works, books in different languages.
