Convent of St. Panteleimon, which is located just a kilometer away from the village in the district of Nicosia Agrokipia, in their present form was created in the XVIII century.
According to historical sources, the monastery complex was originally built in the XV century, when it was intended for men. As the inscription on the western entrance to the church, the complex was renovated in 1770, since the old buildings were so decrepit that could collapse at any moment. Unfortunately, there are no documents that could give an idea of how to look monastery and church originally. Built in the XVIII century. The complex consisted of the church and two buildings located on the north and east side of the temple. Then during restructuring, namely in 1774, the iconostasis and all the valuable icons, including icons of Jesus Christ, the Virgin Mary and Saint Panteleimon, were covered with gold leaf. In addition, the church kept a few old icons, extant, which were written in the XVII century - the oldest among them, considered an icon of St. George, dating from the 1684 year.
Later, in 1970, the monastery became female. And during the next adjustment in the 1980s, it was added to the additional space: on the south side there was another wing and added a mezzanine. In addition, the northern part of the monastery was turned into a warehouse and production facility for the manufacture of sweets. Also, once there was room for the production of olive oil, but it was also converted into warehouses.
At the moment in the monastery of St. Panteleimon lives only a few nuns.
