Caravanserai Büyük Han, located in the north of Nicosia, the Selimiye mosque, along with one of the most important sights of the Turkish part of Cyprus. Büyük Han was built in 1572 and represents a complex of buildings, which houses the inn. However, the degree of protection it is not inferior to a small fortress.

Almost in the center is closed on all sides of the courtyard stands a small octagonal mosque, and a pool, designed for the washing of the feet. The buildings themselves are built of yellow stone, decorated with lots of arches, turrets and towers. Around the inner perimeter of buildings drawn wide verandas.
Later, from 1878, after the capture of the British territory, the inn was turned into a prison. However, at the end of the Second World War Büyük Han became a shelter for the homeless. Soon, however, the local authorities conducted a reconstruction of the complex and gave the building at the disposal of the Art Museum. Now Byuyyuk Khan are several cafes and souvenir shops where you can buy wonderful handmade things - figurines, jewelry, soap, dishes, and delicious Turkish delight.
In addition, more and more popular among tourists and this place has become famous thanks to the Turkish shadow theater, whose performances in Cyprus can only be seen in Byuyyuk Khan.
