Amorgos - Greek island in the southern Aegean Sea, part of the Cyclades. The island is located near the island of Naxos and Ios, is the easternmost island of the Cyclades. The island is about 130 sq.km.
The island has been inhabited since prehistoric times and was an important center of the Cycladic civilization in 3200-2000 BC, as evidenced by the archaeologists discovered the ruins of ancient cities, tombs and many unique artefacts (some of them are now kept in the National Museum of Athens).
