Mickey called granitoids Island State geological natural monument of regional importance, which is in the area of the Kandalaksha district Murmansk region in Kovdozerskom forestry. The monument bears not only scientific but also educational value, being one of the most interesting and unexplored facilities in the Russian North.

The granitoids are the northeastern side of the island Mickey, namely in the Kandalaksha Bay of the White Sea, which at the entrance to Kovdovu lip in 6 km east of the small village called Kovda and a 7-km south-east Lesozavodsk from the village and 55 kilometers south of Kandalaksha. The total area, which is occupied by granitoids, is about 10 hectares.

Mickey Island is an uninhabited island. To the northwest, south and west of the island there is a wide variety in the form of islands, the largest number of whom do not have a name because of a very small size. Among the major islands include: Berezovets, Elovets, Tall, Curve, Dristyanoy, Baklysh and Marfitsu. Towards the south-west side of Mickey stretches the long sandy beach, which connects the island with the surrounding small islands.

As for the relief component of the island, it has a rough surface, somewhat elongated in the direction from north-west to south-east and slightly expanding to the eastern part of several bays, which stretch out to the north and south sides, dividing the island into two halves, leaving a small isthmus width of up to several tens of meters. The total length of the island is about 1, 5 km and width - 850 m at the widest part.

The impressive part of the island is covered with dense forests impassable, excluding only the northwestern end and in the middle of the isthmus. Also, there are three small sloping hill, the height of which reaches to the level of 9 m in the north-west side. In the northwestern part of the island, on one of the hills, a small control point.

Unique state complex is a natural complex granitoid outcrops on an area about the size of 200 by 500 meters, with the age of the granites occurring at the location of its formation is approximately 2, 4-2, 5 billion years .  The formation of natural granite occurs gradually over an extended period of time at a temperature of about 600 ° C, and a pressure of approximately 6000 bar .  This process was the result of a complete remelting located in this area even more ancient rocks, which are called amphibolites and gneisses, and their residues in the form of original xenoliths are scattered all over the finding of huge granite boulders and debris prohibitive .  It should be noted that considerable interest in natural heritage is for researchers, geologists and simple adventurers who are interested in the process of deep granite .

To date, there are precise data on the monthly average temperature prevailing in the area of the monument, which is 12, 5 ° C, which is typical of the warm season and in cold weather the temperature reaches -12 to 4 ° C. Over the years, rainfall is 398 mm.
