An unusual town in the composition of which can be divided into two separate villages Frydek and Mistek, located on different sides of the river Ostravice, attracts thousands of tourists, because it is the center of the city, or rather, the river that divides it in half, the border between Moravia and Silesia. Thus, having arrived in Frydek-Mistek can be for one day to visit once in two historical areas of the Czech state. This tourist attraction like the adults and children, so the lack of visitors, the city has never experienced.

The date of foundation of the city Frydek-Mistek considered January 1, 1943, when, and merged the two towns. Initially it was called Frydek, so it was called the Silesian part. And only in 1955 the new town acquired a double name.

The main tourist attraction in the city is the Frydek Castle, built in the XIV century. Several times he was subjected to reconstruction, first acquiring the Renaissance and then Baroque features. Now the chambers of the castle brought to museum, but lovers of historic interiors, too, will not be disappointed. Near the castle there is a small park, which offers a good overview on Mistek town, which lies opposite the castle.

Walking through the main square, which is decorated with a beautiful fountain, you can go in search of a few churches. One of them was built near the castle and the church called St. Jošt. It was erected as a cemetery church, but in the XIX century, the cemetery was removed from the walls, planted trees and breaking beds.

Another church worthy of attention, consecrated in the name of St. Mary. His pomp and grandeur, it resembles many Baroque churches in Prague. Its chancel is decorated in pale pink tones, that only gives the church more solemnity. This church occasionally hosts concerts of organ music.
