Kurapaty - a mass grave of victims of Stalinist repression. In this tract in 1937-41 NKVD officers shot people who were later exonerated, and their innocence has been proven. Memorial to the victims of Stalinist repression began to form in 1988.

For a long time the place has become a mass grave for many innocent people, it was strictly classified. Daredevil, who published the truth about Kurapaty in the media, he risked his life. That was the daredevil Zenon Pozniak. He wrote an article "Kurapaty - the road of death" and published it in the journal "Literature and Mastatstva" 3 June 1988. The scandal raised long hushed up topic. The Communist Party, which at that time Yeshe was in power, tried to hush up the scandal, but it has already received the international political repercussions.
