Isle Verde is located in the eponymous strait separating the islands of Luzon and Mindoro. In 1988, as part of a European project on the island it was founded a small settlement with use of modern technologies, such as generating electricity by solar panels. Since then, the Philippine Tourism Association invariably involves Verde Island in the list of top marine protected areas of the country. To get here from the island of Luzon is a 45-minute boat ride or a 25-minute ferry ride from Batangas. Another option - the ferry from Puerto Galera, a trip which also takes about half an hour.
For decades Verde is a favorite place of recreation for residents of Batangas and Mindoro Island, as well as a popular tourist dive sites. Among the attractions of the island can be called kilometer beach Mahabang Buhangin and the cave Cueva Sitio, tunnels which lead to the neighboring island. And divers enjoy clear water with excellent visibility, diverse marine life and underwater real treasures - pieces of chinaware with Spanish galleons sunk in this area centuries ago. The first galleon sunk in 1620, a raid on a reef off the southern coast of Verde. From the ship itself is almost nothing left, but the bottom is still possible to see fragments of Chinese porcelain made in 16-17 centuries.
The most popular dive sites - the so-called "Pinnacle" and "washing machine", both are suitable only for experienced divers due to strong currents around. "Pinnacle" - a huge reef off the east coast of the island Verde, which narrows as it approaches the surface of the water. A "washing machine" consists of several small submarine canyons at depths less than 15 meters. The name of the site was due to the characteristics of the course: the water passing through the canyons, creating "the effect of the washing machine." In a second stream may make you one canyon, and a second - in another.
Among the inhabitants of the island reefs Verde can meet huge wrasse, stingrays, Whitetip and Blacktip sharks.
