The Church of St. Clement, the Pope, and the building that currently occupies the "Ukrtelecom" formerly belonged to the Discalced Carmelite convent. Raising it in the 1893-1895 biennium. designed by Austrian architect F. Shtattsa. Construction management was entrusted to the Ukrainian architect I. Levinsky, to finalize the draft. The work also involved Yu Zaharevich - organizer of the School of Architecture of Lviv. The complex was fully completed and commissioned in 1898.

With the advent of Soviet power the nuns were forced to leave the monastery, and the monastery premises occupied by the NKVD. The new government has divided the main temple on the floors and rooms. When the Germans entered the city, there was arranged a section of the Gestapo, in the territory of the former monastery yard shot prisoners. After the war, until 1952, the premises of the former monastery was given to the protection of the regiment of the NKVD. Subsequently, the cells were transferred to the temple and ATC city, and after the collapse of the Soviet Union all this was inherited to the company "Ukrtelecom".

Only sixteen years of the space returned to the monastery of the Barefoot Carmelites. During repair work in one of the niches was found walled figure of the crucified Christ, has no hands. Now it is set to the altar is a symbol of the people's suffering and ordeal of years of the church, which was consecrated in honor of St. Clement, the Pope, in honor of Kievan Rus Christians both eastern and western rites.
