In December 2011, it opened its doors to visitors the miracle of new high-tech museum in Lima. Metropolitan Museum in Lima is the first fully virtual museum of the country. Its technical equipment - the use of films, 2D, 3D and even 4D, and the use of holograms and other technical subtleties that will guide visitors through 10,000 years of history of Lima, and even show the future: what will be the capital of Peru in 2050.

Metropolitan Museum of Art is located in a building constructed in 1925 to house the first exhibition of the mining industry, and later it housed the headquarters of the Ministry of Transport and Communications. In 2005 it was decided to make this building into the list of historical monuments of Peru.

A beautiful building with marble staircases and interiors in the style of the late 1920s, it became home to the modern museum featuring the history of Lima. The museum has more than 20 rooms. Already at the entrance to the museum welcomes visitors to beautiful video about the National Library. Ricardo Palma. Next hologram accompany tourists on the way through the history of Lima, divided by the pre-Hispanic era, colonial period, the period of independence between the XX and XXI centuries, highlighting all the important episodes in the life of the city. The hall "Limeñan Soul" introduces you to the typical city life, music, architecture, religion, academics and representatives of literature.

Metropolitan museum can only be visited with a guided tour. Groups of 20 to 30 people gather at the entrance. So be prepared to wait for a few minutes until the typed enough people. The tour lasts about 1, 5 hours, but in the near future it will be extended to 3 hours, once all the "artifacts" will be published and included in the tour. Unfortunately, all the films announced only in Spanish! Tours in English are under development.
