The first stone church on the site Staritskogo settlement was built in just three years - in 1558-1561 years. It was pyatishatrovy temple on a high basement. The church was badly damaged in the Time of Troubles and dilapidated. In 1803, the cathedral was completely rebuilt, we can say - rebuilt.

In this domed temple attracts the attention of a beautiful attic, against which the very expressive gables four-column portico of the Tuscan order. The church has two cold aisle Basil and Mitrofanovsky. Nearby stands the three-storey bell tower, built in 1827.
