Little homely church with peeling plaster on the walls - in fact distinguished city temple, consecrated by the name of St. Adalbert. It has a rich history as it is located in the holy place. Here, before the construction was situated wooden church. It was built in 1771 as compensation for the destruction of the city caused by the Seven Years' War. At the same time the bell was purchased, which regularly convened at the service of citizens.

Wooden Church of St. Adalbert was not strong, suffered from rain and scorching sun, gradually destroyed, causing many unpleasant minutes of the congregation, who feared its collapse. Therefore, it decided to destroy and to erect here a stone church, whose construction began in 1832. The funds for the new church singled KK Clam-Gallas. But the architect was selected by F. Effenberger. Initially, the wall near the entrance were mounted two cannonballs as a reminder of the recently experienced war, but during the reconstruction in 1880 the nucleus had been removed. At the same time we set a new organ and the altar.

In the middle of the XX century, too, nobody cared about the little church on the road to Ostashov. Only in 2008 the city came to his senses and took under his wing this temple. Were replaced windows, patched the roof and installed in front of curbs that prevent the penetration of rain water inside.
