Castel Lamberto - old castle situated in the village Lunes, on the territory of the commune Brunico in the Italian province of Bolzano. To reach the castle, you can directly from Bruneck - walk takes about an hour, and the trip by car only a few minutes.

Castel Lamberto is at an altitude of 990 meters above sea level, at the top of the cliff, which faces the narrow Rienza gorge in Val Pusteria. The first mention of it found in 1090, the year - one of the documents refers to a plot of land with the chapel of San Lantpertum. The very same castle was built in the early 12th century on the orders of family Riscone, subjects of the bishops of Bressanone. After the 14th century the family of Riscone ceased to exist, the bishops passed from the hands of the hands of the castle - in particular, its owners were Counts di Gorizia. Later, the castle was destroyed twice - in 1336-m and 1346 m respectively.

At the end of the 17th century, another bishop of Bressanone handed Castel Lamberto Winkler Johann von ring whose descendants owned the castle until 1811, the year when it became the property of the family Hauptmann, who owns it to this day.

Special attention in the territory of Castel Lamberto deserves a small chapel, built in the 17th century and restored in 1962. This chapel is very popular among the residents of the surrounding towns and villages - up to the First World War it Wilgefortis saints, the patroness of women seeking to get rid of pesky admirers.
