Kroměříž City Museum is located in a historic building in 1609 on an area of Velke. Once this building belonged to Cardinal Francis Dietrichstein, who received it through the merger of two buildings: the Jesuit seminary and houses control the economy of the local bishop. Then, the future city museum, and while a roomy, spacious building, which also was well located, became the property of the bishop Karl Liechtenstein-Kastelkorna. The new owner has renovated it after the devastation left behind by the Swedes. Now we see the result of his labors.
The building resembles a Renaissance arcades located nearby Governor's House. Future City Museum was loved by the local people, who have always believed that the construction of one of the most beautiful in the city.
City Museum consists of several sections. In the basement of the exposition dedicated to the history of the city. With the help of touch screens on which are shown educational films and original objects found during archaeological expeditions, here you can find out what was on the site of the city of Kroměříž in prehistoric times, as the small village became a city as developed craft what treasures are hidden under the bridge.
On the ground floor there is an exhibition of paintings dedicated to the city of Kromeriz and the Czech Republic as a whole.
Also in the museum you can find the exhibition "Nature and Man." This is somewhat of dioramas depicting the diversity of flora and fauna in the Zlín region.
