In the historic center of the city of Kazan is the only museum in Russia EA Baratynsky. It is located in the wing of the former city mansion, once owned by the poet.

EA Baratynsky (Boratynsky) (1800-1844) - a prominent Russian poet, a master of philosophical lyrics and elegy, one of Alexander Pushkin. He lived in Kazan and Caimari in a country estate of the wife - Anastasia Lvovna Engelhardt. Later (19-20 cc.) On the ground Kazan lived several generations Baratynskys.

In March 1977 a volunteer in the school №34 was opened the first exhibition dedicated to the life and work of the poet "of Pushkin's era," Yevgeny Baratynsky. In 1991, the museum is given the room in the renovated wing of the former estate of the poet, which opens the exhibition "Pages of the family album." Today, the museum is located in the school building and in the restored wing of the manor in the center of the city of Kazan.

The museum exhibition is made up of authentic objects and collections of the era memorial belongings, documents and photos Baratynskys donated by relatives of the great poet, who emigrated during the Civil War in Russia. The extensive historical collection (about five thousand items) includes: personal belongings of the poet's friend and Pushkin - A.Delviga, rare editions of the nineteenth century, photographs and personal belongings relative E.A.Baratynskogo - known orientalist, Professor AK . Kazem-Bek, and other valuable artifacts. The museum organizes thematic programs dedicated to the works of EA Baratynsky.

Main House of family Baratynskys, located next to the museum is a monument of history and architecture nationwide values.
