Bridge over the River Kwai became a legend after repeatedly appeared in feature films and literature. One of their most famous films is a film by David Lynch's "The Bridge on the River Kwai", filmed in 1957 and earned seven Academy Awards. However, the film - a fantasy with a share of the truth. How the situation is in reality?

Railway Bridge over the River Kwai in Thailand is located between the village of Ban Pong in Thailand and Burma Thanbuzayyat. Its construction took place during the Second World War. Built led Japan to establish a supply of goods to India and back by rail. Work was due to prisoners of war and local Asians who worked in inhumane conditions for a year. Because of the complexities of work, many people left their lives. It is believed that each sleeper on a railway bridge is a witness to one, or even two deaths.
