Generalife - a historical complex, which includes the gardens and the palace and that is one of the main attractions of Granada. Generalife is located on the slopes of the hill of Cerro del Sol, together with the Alhambra and the Albaycín, placed side by side, is the most ancient part of the city and the main legacy of Moorish culture in Spanish lands.

Once the Generalife was the residence of the rulers of the Arab dynasty Nasrid, ruling in Granada from 13 to 14 century.

Generalife - is a truly magical place, fascinating for its beauty, captivating greenery and coolness. The entrance to the garden and park complex located terraces are two patios. One of them leads to the main part of the complex - Asekiyya Court (the court of the channel), which is a symbol of the Generalife. Throughout the length of the court is a beautiful Royal canal supplies water to the territory of the Generalife and the Alhambra. On both sides of the channel sounding jet fountains, creating a play of water and light. In the courtyard Asekiyya grow in abundance boxwood and myrtle orange trees, roses, carnations, laurels, cypresses.

Passing through the courtyard Asekiyya, we find ourselves in a small portico, through which you can go to the Royal Hall, decorated with moldings of clay. The hall is connected to the two galleries of the Renaissance.

Generalife Gardens impress with their compositional harmony, wonderful layout, intimate atmosphere, grandeur, sense of touch to the past. This amazing area is amazing everyone who gets here.

In 1984, the Generalife complex was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
