Gomel Monastery of Saint Nicholas of Myra was founded in 1994.

In 1904 it was built the church of St. Nicholas. The temple was built with funds raised by the Board of Trustees formed officials Polesie railway. Among the donors were very famous people. The land on which the church was donated by famous philanthropist Gomel Duchess Irina Ivanovna Paskevich-Erivan.
