Photo: Devil's staircase
To the east of Foros it is one of the oldest mountain passes of the Main Ridge of Crimean Mountains - Devil's staircase. Here was the only way from the coast into the interior of the Crimean peninsula. From a distance, the pass does resemble a giant staircase with huge steps, which the trail winds. At "ladder" 40 sharp turns, enclosed in stone gorge. In 1820, the rise of the Devil's staircase on the way from Gurzuf to Bakhchisarai has made Alexander Pushkin.
Way up though steep, but without any surprises, danger and dizzy climbs. In recent years, the devil's staircase was chosen by the owners of mountain bikes.
